The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in association with the Latvian Institute (LI) calls on Latvians worldwide to take part in the Patriot Week project from 11 to 18 November, to jointly mark the Lāčplēsis Day and Latvia’s National Day (the anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia).
A new major artwork, “Latvian Flag” was unveiled on May 10 in the Humanities and Social Sciences Reading Room of the National Library of Latvia (NLL). The artwork has been presented to the library by the Georgian-American artist David Datuna, who has donated it in honour of the 97th anniversary of Latvia’s independence. “Latvian Flag” will remain on permanent display at the library.
