The 13th edition of the annual charity event, exhibition and fair "Jarmarka" opened its doors just last week at the Art Academy of Latvia.

It is a unique experience to see young talented artists and their work displayed for purchase in one place. You can choose from interior design items, paintings and ceramics, textiles, sculpture, glass and graphic works, jewellery and many more. There are more than 300 students’ and lecturers’ works for sale.

As the project manager Kristīne Pinkule informed the annual fair gives students a chance to present their works to the general public, while part of the money raised at the fair is used to cover the costs of renovation of the historic Art Academy building. To visitors, on the other hand, this means opportunity to purchase the works of the next Mark Rothko or Vija Celmiņa.

Every year, the fair has a different concept, this year it's "The Freshest Art from the Entire Universe". "Jarmarka" still is one of the most popular events in visual arts organised by the Art Academy of Latvia, agency "Pareizā ķīmija" and association "Kultūras perons" gathering more than 25 000 people annually.

If you are planning a fresh approach to your holiday gifts this year consider giving "Jarmarka" a visit, it will be opened until December 30th from 11:00 – 20:00 every day except December 24, 25 and 26. (Kalpaka bulvaris 13, Riga)
