A blog dedicated to Presidential Activism in Central and Eastern Europe http://presidentialactivism.wordpress.com    has ranked Latvia’s Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis as the top tweeting Prime Minister in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia & Ukraine.

Out of the 12 prime ministers in CEE EU member states, Ukraine and Russia, 11 have a confirmed presence on twitter (except for Bulgaria).

Dombrovskis has even surpassed Dmitri Medvedev of Russia in the rankings who has a follower base of more than 1,5 million people.

„Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis is ranked first here for several reasons,” the blog explains.

He has a personal account (http://twitter.com/VDombrovskis) on which he actively tweets, which is supplemented by a government account (http://twitter.com/Brivibas36).

„Second, Dombrovskis replies to tweets and questions by other users, including reactions to his own tweets, and posts self-taken photos. Third, Dombrovskis personal account has an impressive followership,” the blog states.

The author also notes that Dombrovskis tweets in both, Latvian and English, and at 17 329 followers has surpassed the followership of the account Polish PM’s office by almost 1500.

„Even if you do not follow Latvian affairs too closely, these accounts are worth following nonetheless,” the blog concludes.
